Weight is one of the biggest factors in truck shipping cost, and trucks are typically heavier and take up more deck space than a sedan or small SUV, which affects how many other vehicles a carrier can load alongside them. Larger trucks, dually configurations, and lifted or oversized builds cost more still, since fewer carriers are equipped to take them.
Can you ship a lifted truck?
Yes, but the exact height and tire size need to be confirmed upfront. A lifted truck can sometimes exceed the clearance a standard open carrier planned for its upper deck, which may mean placement on the lower deck only, or in some cases a flatbed carrier for significantly oversized builds. Give us accurate measurements when requesting your quote so we can match you with a carrier that can actually take the load.
Is my truck insured during shipping?
Yes, every truck we ship is covered by the assigned carrier's cargo insurance for the duration of transit. You'll inspect and document your truck's condition together with the driver at pickup and again at delivery, so any discrepancy is easy to identify and resolve.
Do I need to be there for pickup and delivery?
You or another authorized adult, 18 or older, needs to be present at both pickup and delivery to walk through the inspection and sign off on the truck's condition. If you can't be there yourself, you can designate someone else, a family member, neighbor, or coworker, to handle it on your behalf.
Can you ship a work truck with a service body, ladder rack, or tool boxes?
Yes, but let us know about any permanent equipment when requesting your quote, since it affects the truck's weight and how it's loaded. Loose tools, ladders, or equipment should be secured or removed before pickup, as carriers generally aren't equipped to transport loose cargo alongside the vehicle.
